The San Francisco Transgender Film Festival (SFTFF) made history as North America’s first transgender film festival in 1997 – and has built community, launched careers, and mentored emerging transgender filmmakers and festivals around the world. SFTFF screens films that promote the visibility of transgender and gender variant people and challenge mainstream media stereotypes of our communities.
We need your help to pay for THIS YEAR’s theater rental and technical crew – we must raise $7,500 by November 2, 2013.
The San Francisco Transgender Film Festival has launched an online fundraising campaign on Kickstarter – and we’re asking for your help right now. The 12th San Francisco Transgender Film Festival will take place November 8-10, 2013. After years of completely sold-to-capacity screenings, we are presenting our biggest festival yet … and with your support, we are moving back to the ROXIE THEATER! Info & tix: www.sftff.org
Our move back to the Roxie is especially important this year – as our community was heartbroken by the December 2012 death of SFTFF co-founder Christopher Lee. Christopher was a pioneering FTM transgender filmmaker, activist and community leader. Christopher made the world’s first feature film starring FTM people of color and the first-ever FTM trans adult films. With heartfelt roots in our history and a passionate eye for the future, we need YOUR help to make this year’s Festival a roaring success!
